Our last campervan trip just after lockdown in May 2020 saw us exploring the West Coast of the South Island. We stumbled across the most beautiful short walk I have ever experienced. The Pororari River Track just north of Punakaiki village features a spectacular limestone gorge with towering cliffs, an emerald green river with huge rocks set amongst deep pools, and a lush forest displaying subtle changes from subtropical to temperate. What a treat for an artist in search of a painting!
